SALES WITH VISION: HASSAN HARUNA DECLARES CANDIDACY
In the build-up to the forthcoming Students' Union Government (SUG) elections at the University of Maiduguri, Hassan Haruna Ibrahim has formally declared his intention to contest for the position of Sales Director, pledging a leadership focused on innovation, strategy, and student empowerment.
Speaking to fellow students, Ibrahim expressed his excitement and readiness to serve, describing himself as a dedicated and results-driven individual committed to driving success within the union’s sales operations. He emphasized that his primary aim is to align the union's sales efforts with strategic goals that ultimately benefit the student body.
“My goal is to ensured that our sales operations are not only innovative and well-structured but also serve the broader mission of the Students’ Union,” Ibrahim stated. “Every student should have access to opportunities that enrich their academic and professional journey.”
If elected, Ibrahim promises to introduce and implement effective sales strategies that will not only generate revenue for student-centered initiatives but also foster meaningful collaborations with external partners. He stressed the importance of building strong relationships with stakeholders to increase opportunities for students across departments.
Transparency and accountability, he added, will be the hallmark of his leadership. “I will ensure that every process within drt sales department is open and responsible,” he noted. “Students have the right to know how funds are generated and utilized.”
Beyond managing sales, Ibrahim’s vision includes the empowerment of students with practical skills in sales and marketing. He plans to organize workshops, training sessions, and hands-on projects to help students develop professionally and gain real-world experience in entrepreneurship and commercial engagement.
Calling on his peers for support, Ibrahim appealed for their trust and votes, promising a tenure defined by responsibility, innovation, and a genuine commitment to student welfare. “I’m not just asking for your vote — I’m asking for your partnership in building a union that works for all of us,” he said. “Together, let’s drive sales excellence.”
With election season heating up, Ibrahim’s message is already resonating with students who seek a proactive and forward-thinking approach to SUG sales leadership.
